Background / introduction
Patients with bipolar disorder have a shorter life expectancy than healthy controls. This largely due to cardiovascular disease, which seems to be more prevalent in this patient group.
Research question / problem definition
What is the prevalence of metabolic syndrome in patients with bipolair disorder in comparison with healthy controls? Can predictive factors be identified?
Workplan
Writing a research and analysis plan for obtaining data from a large Dutch database. Analysing data together with researchers connected to the database. If interested you can help publishing the article.
