Background / introduction |
---|
Radiologists are medical specialists who evaluate CT and MRI scans. This evaluation is often complex, because it requires profound knowledge of anatomy, pathology, and imaging technology. Moreover, each CT and MRI dataset contains numerous cross-sectional slices through the human body, which makes it a time-consuming task. Importantly, physicians rely more and more on CT and MRI scans for the evaluation of their patients. Consequently, the number of these scans has increased tremendously over the past years [1]. However, the number of radiologists has not increased proportionally. Therefore, these is a need for novel methods that facilitate and speed up the interpretation of CT and MRI scans. |
Research question / problem definition |
---|
Can an innovative method speed up the interpretation of CT and MRI scans without compromising accuracy? |
